Applicants may complete and submit the short application form linked below. An Employment & Training Counselor will contact you within 24-hours of submission (excluding weekends & holidays). A full application is also linked below for applicants to print, complete and submit in person or by email.
Or applicants may come to the Peridot or Bylas offices to pick up an application and set an appointment to meet with an Employment & Training Counselor. Appointments are usually scheduled for the following day (excluding weekends & holidays).

- Self-Employment (Income & Expenses)

- Social Security Verifications/SSI award Letter (Current)
- Welfare payments (GA) Verification
- Unemployment Insurance Verification
- Veterans Administration (VA) Benefits Verification
- Pell Grant/Scholarship Award Letter
- Family members over the age of 18 must also provide income.
- Social Security Card(s): Bring Social Security cards for all family members listed on your application.
- Birth Certificate(s): For all household members on application.
- Certificate(s) of Indian Blood: For all household members on application.
- School Records: Verification of enrollment and attendance – all school age children.
- Proof of Addresses: A post marked stamped envelope that has application current mailing address with name on it AND physical address either land lease, land mark survey or hand drawn map.

- Verification of Household Composition
- Current Immunization for Children You are Applying for
- Proof of Pregnancy: Doctor statement with expected due date.

Interview Process
During the interview, an Employment & Training Counselor will review the application and request for documents listed above. The applicant will be given ten (10) days to submit the required documents.

What is the Nnee Bich’o Nii (TANF) Program? Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is a welfare-to-work program that helps families with dependent children to become self-sufficient through education, support services, employment skills, training and cash assistance.
Who can apply for Nnee Bich’o Nii services? Low income and needy families with dependent children living on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. This includes family members with court ordered guardianship of their minor grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews or cousins.
Are there any forms or applications to complete and submit? Yes, the Nnee Bich’o Nii Cash Assistance application must be completed and submitted. There is a link above to a short form application you can fill out and submit. An Employment & Training Counselor will contact you within 24-hours of receiving your application.
What services does the Nnee Bich’o Nii provide? Nnee Bich’o Nii Program may provide families support and prevention services, on a case-by-case basis, as determined by need and availability.
Are there any program requirements? Yes, such as Job Search, volunteering, attending high school or G.E.D. classes. Parents are also required to submit their child(ren)’s current immunization, school attendance records and grades.
Once an application has be submitted, what is the next step in the process? The applicant will need to provide the documents listed above. Their E&T Counselor will be able to make copies on behalf of the applicants.
How long does a cash interview take? Typically, a cash interview mayu take about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on case complexity.
How soon will a decision be made on a submitted cash application? A decision is made within 15 days of the date of the initial interview.
What is the most important part of the Nnee Bich’o Nii Program? The most important part is complying with all Nnee Bich’o Nii Program requirements.
Do I have to volunteer? It depends. The E&T Counselor will review your case and determine the next course of action.
